Jessica saw a Folio Box print set that I created for her close friend and then contacted me to ask about scheduling a session. She was interested in surprising her husband with a sexy, personalized Valentine's Day gift.
I like to set up a phone call for new inquiries so I can learn a little about the person and how they would like to be photographed. It helps me determine if I am the right photographer for them, and it also helps me understand the type of session that will serve them best. I learned so many fun things about this beautiful woman. She is a very responsible business manager, she and her husband are Tampa Bay hockey fans (or maybe I should say fanatics?), she has a college degree in music and plays with an orchestra, and years back she was given the nickname 'Flash' by her friends (and she was not on the track team!).
We decided that we were a good fit for each other and started to do some planning for her secret photo session and surprise gift. I asked her to collect photographs of boudoir concepts that she liked. We discussed the concept images that she selected and what would work, and what might not work, in the space that she would use for her session. I had so much fun working with her ideas and I love the images that we created. I want to thank Jessica for giving me permission to share a few of them here.

ps - I received the following note from Jessica after she delivered her surprise Valentine's gift. Messages like this are why I love what I do so much. - - -
"I cannot tell you how proud I am of the photos we took! My husband has been ooo-ing and ah-ing all over them!!
Mission accomplished! Thank you so much again! I have two or three friends who are very interested in sessions! I have passed along your information but if you get time and can spare, send me some of your business cards so I can hand them out! I have one but that one is mine for a future session! Hopefully a couple's boudoir session for us! (He has been kind of intrigued!)
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again! The pictures have been received so well and everyone is so utterly impressed with the quality and overall experience! I am very blessed to have had Rachel recommend you!"
and then a week later she shared this note with me -
My husband sent a text to me Wednesday this past week and said "there hasn't been a day since Saturday when your pics got on my phone I haven't stared at them. It feels like I've fallen in love with you all over again. Maybe because your pictures reminded me how stunning and breathtakingly beautiful and incredibly sexy you are!! I am so lucky I get to have you as all mine."
Sometimes I get puzzled looks from couples at the beginning of their boudoir session. I sit down with them to talk before we start and one of the things that we discuss is that I am not there to photograph them, I am there to photograph their emotion. Many don't quite comprehend that, until they see their beautiful photos.
Sometimes their emotion is love, sometimes it is playful, or passion or maybe even 'ready to rumble'. It always comes through, and for me, it is what my Tender Moments Couples Boudoir sessions are all about. We capture emotion in their images that they can enjoy and share forever.
Anthony and Latiera were such a pleasure to be with and to photograph. I brought my camera and lighting equipment to their Little Rock, Ar. home and photographed them there. Their love and respect for each other is amazing and it definitely comes through in their photographs. We stopped early in our session to review the images on the back of my camera. Latiera started to cry a few happy tears when she saw her husband's love for her in the pictures. We had to pause our session for a moment as she left to touch up her makeup. Moments like that are what make these sessions my absolute favorite of all the types of photography that I offer.

One of my favorite Little Rock Ar hotels for boudoir sessions is the Best Western Governor's Suites. http://www.bestlittlerockhotel.com/ It is a luxurious hotel located in a quiet area in West Little Rock. Their rooms are very comfortable, large and the window light is beautiful. They have one room and two room suites, some rooms have a fireplace mantle and a few rooms have a jacuzzi. I prefer to work in the one room suites when I am using my studio lighting. The one room suites have ample room to position my light stands and still have room to work. This image is a natural light photo using only their window light:
I encourage you to consider this hotel when booking your boudoir session with me. If you prefer to be in a different part of town let me know. Couples boudoir is my absolute favorite of all of the different photography sessions that I do. This couple was so much fun to work with. L is as sweet as anyone could be, and J is amazingly creative and full of fun ideas. Together their love for each other is overwhelming and I think that the tender emotion between them comes out in all of these photos. During their session we did a combination of casual outdoor photos and indoor boudoir photos and they rocked every single frame. A photographer could not ask for an easier couple to work with!

Beautiful furnishings, luxurious rooms and home style service. It was the perfect location for a boudoir photographer. My client and her husband had planned a weekend getaway and invited me to do a boudoir session before their night on the town. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them at the Williams House in Hot Springs, Arkansas, http://1890williamshouse.com/.
